The Instrumental Music Program at St Michael's College offers students expert private tuition in voice, piano, guitar, bass and drums.​​
All of our instrumental  teachers are  highly experienced and most importantly, passionate about teaching!


Singing Teacher

Jamie Lee Wilson is a highly experienced and qualified vocal teacher and award winning singer and songwriter. Jamie holds a Bachelors Degree from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music and teaches a wide range of contemporary vocal  techniques used by today’s leading artists.

Piano Teacher

Sarah Matheson is currently a student at the Queensland Conservatorium and has been studying piano for over 15 years. She is an exceptional pianist and has performed at many venues, including;  Alfred and Constance, Vinnies, and The Brisbane Jazz Club. Sarah is proficient in teaching all styles of Piano, including, Classical, Jazz, and Contemporary, and tailors lessons to assist each student in working toward their desired musical goals.

Guitar Teacher

Brett Cusack is an internationally successful musician and educator with over 20 years experience in music, human behaviour and music education. He is an accomplished Teacher, Producer, Recording Artist and Entrepreneur. Brett loves guiding and inspiring young musicians to create confidence through creativity and music. Brett has shared stages with Shannon Noll, James Reyne, Vanessa Amorosi, Midnight Juggernaughts and the Potbellies. Brett has studied under Australia’s leading musicians such as Brett Garsed (John Farnham) and Simon Patterson (Hey Hey, It’s Saturday) and world leading human behaviour specialist Dr. John Demartini.  
Brett holds a Graduate Diploma of Education at the University of Melbourne, and a Bachelor’s Degree of Music Performance. 
Throughout his years as an educator, Brett identified the greatest challenges for music students is making the ‘not so fun, not so easy’ aspects of learning music engaging and fun through a flexible and adaptive student centred​ learning model. Brett now dedicates his life to helping students understand their unique learning styles, tackle challenges and build self confidence through the amazing experience of learning music. Brett offers both individual and small group lessons.

All lessons are conveniently located at the College, with days and times negotiated with you depending on the availability of our instrumental teachers.
