The Instrumental Music Program at St Michael's College offers students expert private tuition in voice, piano, guitar, bass and drums.​​
All of our instrumental  teachers are  highly experienced and most importantly, passionate about teaching!

Singing Teacher

Jamie Lee Wilson is the Head of Music Performance at the College and is a highly experienced and qualified vocal teacher and award winning singer and songwriter. Jamie holds a Bachelors Degree from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music and teaches a wide range of contemporary vocal  techniques used by today’s leading artists.

Drum Teacher

Jake Morton has over seven years experience as a Drum teacher and performer. He completed a Bachelor of Popular Music with Honours​​ at Griffith University and also holds a Diploma of Music from GCIT. Jake is also a highly experienced studio engineer and has toured 
and been nominated for several live music awards.

Piano Teacher

Esther Hunter is a highly trained and experienced Piano teacher with a Masters degree from the Queensland Conservatorium of Music. Esther teaches classical, jazz, and contemporary styles. She tailors lessons to help each individual student work towards their chosen musical goals, whether they be studying at University, teaching, performing, or recording.​

Electronic Music Production Teacher

Liam Vaughan is a well-known DJ and Music Producer on the Gold Coast. He’s seen recent success, securing EPs on International record labels such as Sub49 and NV’d Records. His music has been played by international DJs such as Dr. Fresch and AC Slater.  Liam’s music is grounded in 15 years of classical and jazz piano. Inspired by DJs such as FISHER, Marshmello and Dillon Francis, he began exploring production and electronic music as a teenager, and secured his first DJ set at age 18. Having now studied different electronic music genres for five years with international mentors, Liam produces at an industry standard. He is able to teach all sub-genres of electronic music as well as recording and DJing.

Guitar Teacher

Gerard Gundy is a well-known guitar teacher on the Gold Coast and has taught hundreds of guitarists of all levels. He started his musical journey began as a self-taught guitarist and after many hours of listening and learning from guitar greats, Gerard secured a place at the prestigious Conservatorium of Music Brisbane, receiving his Bachelor of Music - majoring in Jazz Guitar. Gerard teachers all styles of music, ​ including rock and pop, to jazz and classical.
All lessons are conveniently located at the College, with days and times negotiated with you depending on the availability of our instrumental teachers.
