The Arts at St Michael’s College is a vibrant community that focusses on delivering a contemporary approach to artmaking and performance.Our primary goal enables students to create work at an industry standard and our co-curricular practices support students in reaching their full potential.

Facilities

Our air-conditioned Dance Studio is purpose-built; featuring teared seating, sprung floors and mirrors to help deliver high-level student achievement. Our Drama space boasts its own sound and lighting system and audio-visual room to assist in the technical areas of production development. Nestled into this block is our newly renovated and air-conditioned Music room and recording studio. With multiple soundproof spaces for rehearsal and performance preparation, all instruments can be managed and catered for to suit the individual needs of all our students. St Michael's College has a Visual Art classroom, with a fully equipped Visual Art Studio with many resources to aid all types of creative minds. Students who study Media can make use of the College's 'Green' screen, recording facilities and air-conditioned digital computer labs.

The St Michael's community is dedicated to accommodating our creative thinkers and performing artists with culturally rich and engaging spaces to promote meaningful work.

Productions

Each year, St Michael’s College showcases the arts in a variety of ways. This includes Junior and Senior Drama productions, Dance Showcases, Music Showcases and Arts Festivals.

Eisteddfods and Competitions

Eisteddfods are a way for students to experience industry level competition in their chosen aspect of the Arts. St Michael’s regularly competes in Drama, Music and Dance Eisteddfods and competitions.

Dance Troupe

Junior and Senior Dance Troupes are popular extracurricular ventures, with a large number of students auditioning each year. Junior and Senior Dance Troupes allows students to work with their peers as well as students from other year levels. Our Troupes perform at St Michael's events, as well as National and International competitions throughout the year. The St Michael's Dance Troupes are a great way to improve and challenge students dance abilities and form new relationships.

Art and Media Club

Guided by our Visual Art and Media Staff, students have the opportunity to create art and media works beyond the scope of the curriculum by participating in weekly Art and Media clubs.

Instrumental Tuition

Instrumental tuition is provided at St Michael's College, and can be arranged as individual or small group lessons. Lessons are provided as an additional cost to parents. St Michael's College currently offers instrumental tuition in vocals, piano, guitar and drums.

Band and Vocal Group

All students are invited to join our vocal group and band, rehearsing at lunch breaks.
