At St Michael’s College in the Middle Years of learning (Year 7-9), belonging, excellence and love are fostered through the development of a robust and vibrant curriculum that promotes individual excellence, developing right relationships, and empowering students through participation.

To support students in their transition to secondary schooling, classes in Year 7 and 8 are structured based on a core teacher model where the teacher of English and Religion work collaboratively with the core teacher of Mathematics and Science, to focus on the students and their learning.

Our focus in the Middle Years of learning is to ensure that the necessary foundations that all learners need for success in their chosen future pathway are developed. As a result, young adolescents at St Michael’s College are prepared to enter their senior phase of schooling as active, confident and informed learners with a sense of community and an enthusiasm for learning.
