​Phil is an outstanding educator, committed to his students and his colleagues.  Phil is completely committed to the College and BCE commitment to Excellence in Learning and Teaching.  Phil is an innovative student-centric educator who knows that the education of a student is a holistic activity.  Phil's pastoral care of students and colleagues is exceptional.  Phil regularly and authentically utilises a variety of ICT elements in his teaching to enhance student learning.  Phil regularly receives commendations from students as part of the College's Belonging, Care and Connection staff recognition at morning briefings.  Phil's focus for students in the classroom is individualised.  Phil champions differentiation, particularly in Mathematics, and is committed to working with students on understanding their individual progress and being able to articulate what they require for their individual next step.  Phil has played a pivotal role in the Literacy journey at St Michael's and has been a vocal advocate in the explicit teaching of literacy demands within Mathematics and Science.  Phil demonstrates a genuine commitment and contribution to learning, professional growth, and collaboration, which builds the capacity of self and others.  Phil is highly sought after as an Early Career Teacher mentor.  Phil is the type of teacher that a College would love to clone!
