Dr Jeff Kemp is a highly successful educator with over 30 years experience as a teacher and university lecturer, and as a specialist guidance counsellor of children and teenagers, in particular troubled teenagers.
Dr Kemp's renowned early intervention program for troubled 'at risk' teenagers is known as 'Asteros'. The 'Asteros' program extends for 12 months and involves a wilderness adventure experience, intensive in-school student support, parent training and ongoing support from a volunteer mentor (life coach). This unique program was awarded a recognition bursary from Griffith University in Australia which enabled Dr Kemp to visit and study the very best programs for troubled teenagers in the U.S. Dr Kemp has since incorporated the research findings into his current practice.
