St Michael’s College offers an inclusive sporting program for all students. The College is committed to offering its students a wide variety of opportunities in which sport plays a major role.
The school has a number of sporting facilities that include two outdoor basketball/netball courts (one covered), fully enclosed Multi-Purpose Complex offering netball and badminton courts and outdoor cricket net facilities. The College boasts well-maintained ovals and a weights gymnasium. The College is proud of its sporting achievements and currently there are over 20 students who have reached State or National standards in their chosen sport.

Philosophy - The school believes that the sporting program is a vital part of a balanced lifestyle and provides a range of experiences and opportunities. We expect every student to participate in these activities and it is important that all students strive for active involvement and strive to reach their sporting potential.
Representative Pathways allow our elite level students the chance to represent at QLD School Sport, QLD All Schools or National School Sport events.
- Hinterland School Sport: St Michael’s College is apart of the Hinterland District School Sport Association allowing students to gain higher representative honours. Students who are selected in District teams then vie for selection in South Coast School Sport teams.
- Independent School Sport: St Michael’s College is a member of the Independent School Sport District and has seen much success with numerous school championships in Track & Field. The Independent District is the first pathway for representative honours in Athletics, Cross Country and Swimming.

Representative Opportunities - The College gives it students a number of opportunities to represent the College at an elite level. The College enters teams in competitions that include – Australia Post Cricket Knock-out, Clarke Keating Cup AFL, Bill Turner Cup Soccer, SQBD Touch Football, QLD Independent School Netball Competition, QLD Catholic Schools Netball Cup, Titans Cup Rugby League, Confraternity Rugby League competition, Track & Field and Kokoda Challenge teams competition amongst others.
Association of Gold Coast Colleges – The term two and three Inter-School Sports Competition allows our students to participate in regular sport activity as representatives of the College. The Association enables students of various levels to experience regular sporting
.

Girls: AFL, Basketball, Football, Futsal, Netball, Touch Football & Volleyball.
Rec Sport – In fourth term students in the junior school have the opportunity to participate in a wide range of recreational pursuits which range from beach games, boot camp, fishing, ice skating, kayaking, rock climbing, stand up paddle, surfing and yoga.
