Surfers Paradise Parish

The Parish of Surfers Paradise is one of the largest Parishes in the Archdiocese of Brisbane. One of the advantages of being large is that we are able to offer a variety of avenues for involvement in Church life and ministry. The Parish website outlines opportunities for you to become more involved in the life our Parish community. It is through the Sacrament of Baptism that we are prompted to take part in the mission of Jesus. We all have our different talents and abilities by which we can make a contribution to the mission of the Church in Surfers Paradise. If you come across an area that appeals to you and you would like to become more informed or involved, please refer to the Parish Directory for contact names and phone numbers or contact one of the members of the Parish Team.

As a Parish Pastoral Team, we are committed to providing pastoral care which nourishes faith in action. It is together then, that we are called to build a Church that is caring of one another, that continues to learn from its tradition, that seeks to nourish faith, and that reaches out to those beyond our Parish family. We invite you to take some time to browse through the Parish website.

St Michael’s College is within the geographical boundaries of the Surfers Paradise and this has meant that a close working relationship between the parish and the College have been established. Fr Nicholas Okafor is our College chaplain and he celebrates Mass at St Michael’s regularly. Fr Nicholas also presides at the Opening Mass at the beginning of the year and the Foundation Day Mass in June. Once every term, students and staff from St Michael’s College attend a special House Mass at Sacred Heart church, Clear Island Waters. As many St Michael’s students are part of the Nerang parish, the College also has links with the Nerang parish.

Sacramental programs are offered through the parishes. Contact details for the parish are listed below.
